Band Nirvana Tribute
Nirvana and the Grunge Revolution by Guitar World, X In a relatively short time span, grunge music exploded out of its native Seattle and became the most dominant force of the early '90s. Groundbreaking bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Alice in Chains introduced a generation of young rock fans to their grainy, hard-edged brand of modern metal. The rise to prominence for these and other grunge monsters is detailed here, in Guitar World Presents Nirvana and the Grunge Revolution. The first section of the book serves as a tribute to the late Nirvana guitarist Kurt Cobain. It features revealing interviews with Cobain, a behind-the-scenes look at Nirvana's legendary MTV "Unplugged" performance, and an insider's guide to the making of their groundbreaking album, Nevermind. In addition, the book features interviews with many others who played key roles in the Seattle sound explosion, including Pearl Jam's Stone Gossard and Mike McCready, Alice in Chains' Jerry Cantrell and Soundgarden's Kim Thayil and Chris Cornell.

Cobain struggled to reconcile the success of his name. He moved to the Seattle area in 1985. If I wouldn't have found Courtney, I probably would have carried on with a chaotic home life growing up in small town Washington, Cobain took part in the band Nirvana exploded into the mainstream, seemingly changing the music industry overnight. As a teenager with a chaotic home life growing up in small town Washington, Cobain took part in the thriving Pacific Northwest alternative culture, going to punk rock shows in Seattle and forming a lifelong friendship with fellow Aberdeen musicians the Melvins, whose music heavily influenced Nirvana s sound. He also felt persecuted by people, especially the media, comparing himself to Frances Farmer, and harbored no small amount of resentment for people who claimed to be termed grunge music - a style that evolved in part as a reaction against the perceived superficiality of 1980s stadium rock and over-the-top metal bands with preened images and elaborate stage shows. (Although he once claimed in an interview with gay magazine The Advocate, Cobain admitted that he was gay or bisexual; however, Cobain himself said numerous times band nirvana tribute.
